George Mackay Brown (Portrait)

George Mackay Brown (1921–1996) was born on the Orkney Islands. He wrote poetry, novels and plays and is considered one of the most famous Scottish writers of the 20th century. The scenery of the Orkney Islands, as well as the Islandic sagas, inspired his authorship.
